2025 presented challenges to many in Southern California. Friends and colleagues at Caltech, JPL, and the Einstein Papers Project were not immune to them. And still, we've found comfort in our community and pleasure in our work.
Moments to celebrate this year include Dr. Mahmoud Jalloh joining us at the Einstein Papers. Mahmoud is a Postdoctoral Scholar Research Associate in History and Philosophy of Science at Caltech and he jumped right in to scientific editing on our current volume in progress, Volume 18 of The Collected Papers of Albert Einstein.
And, while we will miss him, we are very happy for our colleague, Dr. Joshua Eisenthal. He has taken a new position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Washington.
We had a full house over the summer with colleagues visiting from far afield. We are all focused on volumes 18 and 19 of The Collected Papers. These next two volumes will cover all three of Einstein's visits to Caltech in 1931, 1932 and 1933. There is always much to be explored in our quiet corner of the campus. We wish you and yours all the best in 2026.
